The jewelry I make - all the experimentation with materials, the patterns from other domains - it can look radical. It’s just that nobody, not even I, has access to all the little steps that happen before arriving at some solution. I wonder if there is a universal grammar for visual expression, like we have for spoken and sign language. The rules have to be there, a set of cues and operators that we all use: some biases, the way I search, the way I stop searching. All of these cannot be radical. |
